Allison Kendzorski

Owner/Expert Seamstress

My journey as a seamstress began when I was eight years old, when I was taught basic sewing skills by my grandmother. She instilled in me a love of sewing, my love of fashion collided at an early age.

In my teen years I began thrifting and up-cycling clothing when I got a job at the local Salvation Army. I made my own clothes, and tweak my thrifted finds to fit my body. I also started making homecoming and prom dresses for myself and my friends.

After high school, I studied fashion design at The International Academy of Design and Technology, and learned the foundational skills of pattern drafting and garment construction. Along the way, my personal vintage clothing collection grew and grew, and I began selling homemade wears and thrifted finds at local festivals around the Detroit area (my all-time-favorite being Dally in the Alley). During this time, I was also working with tailors and seamstresses, building my skill and confidence.

In 2012 I decided to officially branch out on my own. Starting at first a home business, then upgrading to a private office space, and to now a brick and mortar store! I have been a professional seamstress for over 10 years, and I LOVE it!
